The Second Week of the Year!

9 Jan

Monday, January 09, 2012

Ok, we made it through the first week.  The rest should go down like dominos.

Is it too late to add the New Years’s Resolutions?  I’m still tacking on a few.

Not much to report today.

Last night’s full moon (Wolf Moon) was at 11:30pm out here; too overcast to see it.

Interesting sunspot activity documented on Spacewether.com  (http://www.spaceweather.com/)

“Over the weekend, sunspot AR1393 tripled in size, swelling into an active region more than five times as wide as Earth. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the two-day expansion:”  Always cool videos from NASA et. al.

This site (spaceweather.com) is a really good place to see what is going on…in space!

That is, in space that concerns us.  Good shots of the sun, sun spot info, geomagnetic info, nice plots of Near Earth Asteroids (the next one is Jan 16) and other info.

The information available on the web gets better every day!

That’s all for now,

Working on tomorrow's blog entry right now!
